Research confirms meditation's positive effects on body and mind. Meditate NYC begins with an afternoon of meditation instruction by speakers from a great variety of traditions. The event is FREE and everyone is welcome! Meditate NYC will take place on Sunday November 9, 2008, 2 pm to 7 pm at the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew. You can come and go when you like. Bring a cushion or something comfortable to sit on. Learn meditation techniques and receive inspiration from our renowned speakers, including: Learn about the meditation resources that New York City has to offer! Meditate NYC’s afternoon of meditation will be followed by a week of free Open Houses, November 10 – 16, at dozens of meditation groups and dharma centers throughout the five boroughs of New York City. With instruction by speakers from a range of schools, Meditate NYC is an accessible way to find out what various approaches to meditation involve and what the benefits are.
